Having met in Kindergarten, Corey and I grew up alongside each other and have come to be great friends. He has a contagious energy; our conversations always race, seeming to skew towards big ideas but still grounded in the practicable principles of design. We've always been eager to aid each other in continuing to grow as creatives and thinkers. It is exciting to see someone match his energy so well. Stephanie is an incredibly driven and skilled hairstylist and new friend. Together, they just make sense.

I've had the pleasure of creating the materials to announce and celebrate the wedding of Stephanie and Corey, which will take place this September on the roof of the City Museum – a truly unique “art-chitectural” marvel crafted with found objects by the late Bob Cassilly in (and on) the old International Shoe Building in downtown St. Louis. This will be the very first wedding to be held on the roof  and, thus, the idea —Atop the City—seemed to us like a fun theme to explore when planning the wedding and designing the printed goods.

The piece shown here is the very first of the printed goods, the Save the Date. These were hand stamped on Crane's Lettra using (3) custom rubber stamps. We chose to illustrate a Ferris wheel because of the rooftops main attraction: a restored, revived, and revolving four-story Ferris wheel that offers a one-of-a-kind view of the city. The goal was to hint where the event was to take place, without giving it away so that recipients would visit the wedding website to get further information.
